100 YEARS OF ROVIRA : A CELEBRATION OF THE UNKNOWN

In April 2025 Rovira would have been 100 years old. To celebrate, SONICO will travel to Argentina for the third time, where the ensemble will perform and record live Rovira’s two most iconic albums: “Sonico” (1969) and “Que lo Paren” (1975). Their tour experience will be (video) documented as a road movie in order to create, back in Europe, a concert performance experience allowing our listeners to actively take part in this moment.

The concert will include snapshots from our journey projected on a screen, giving the audience special insight into these hidden modern tango masterpieces. The concert programme includes multiple line-ups including the trio and quartet of Eduardo Rovira as well as the lesser-known first quintet of Astor Piazzolla.
